Pride Month: The power of feeling seen and supported

As part of Pride Month, Esland is sharing Finn’s story; highlighting how acceptance, understanding and the right support can help young people feel confident in who they are.
As a young person with Autism and ADHD, Finn experienced uncertainty around his identity and sexuality, alongside worries about how others might perceive him. Through trusted relationships, patient support and a safe space to explore his identity at his own pace, Finn gradually grew in confidence and self-acceptance.
Today, Finn feels more comfortable expressing himself, speaking openly about who he is, and trusting that those around him accept him without judgement.
His journey is a powerful example of what Pride Month represents in practice — creating environments where young people feel safe, valued, and able to be themselves.
